My Love for sewing started when I was a little girl

Both my Mother and Grandmother had a passion for all things sewing

I spent a lot of my holidays at my Grandmothers home helping her, Well, as much as a four year old could.

I remember one job my Grandmother had, she made the footy jerseys for the South Sydney Rabbitohs. A National Rugby League team in Sydney Australia. After my Grandmother finished making the jersey it was my job, along with my sister, to stick the numbers on the back of the jersey. That was such a long time ago. Such a fond memory.

I have loved sewing ever since

I remember watching my mother making intricate dolls clothes and trying to peer over the top of the ironing board to see what was being made

My love for sewing has continued throughout my life constantly learning more and more skills

Sewing bridal, swimwear, dancewear. curtains, formalwear, theatre costumes and every garment imaginable over the years. I honed my craft, not really knowing where it would take me, only knowing that my passion and enjoyment of sewing would allow me to be constantly creative. Becoming adept at pattern making and pattern drafting through years of learning from wonderful teachers and courses.

I arrived in the dance world by chance. My niece started ballet and asked if I could make her a tutu. There wasn’t a lot of patterns back then. I was lucky enough to happen upon a group called the “Sewing Forum” where I received so much wonderful advice and assistance I was able to make my very first tutu.

That was close to fifteen years ago now. I’ve had my own costuming business for most of that time. Making anything dance. I also found a love for Boys and Mens Dance Wear.

Over the years I discovered there was a complete lack of stretch patterns for boys and men. Patterns for Latin, Skating, Gym and Dance, I found there was a definite need to create these patterns myself.

It’s been ten years and very little has happened in the world of stretch patterns for boys and men.

So I have made it my mission to create professional stretch sewing patterns for boys and men for you.
